Housing developer OBOS has forged an agreement with Scandinavian contractor to develop the third phase of the Teieparken project in Tønsberg, Norway.

This phase includes the construction of 52 environmentally certified apartments.

The design-build contract is valued at approximately Nkr130m ($11.84m), excluding VAT.

Veidekke Bygg Vestfold and Telemark district manager Lars N Hjertås said: “We are pleased to extend our good cooperation with OBOS on the Teieparken residential project. This started with a partnership agreement on project development back in 2017, which proceeded to the development contract for the first 64 apartments in 2018 which have long since been completed.

“Overall, 232 apartments in Teleparken [Teieparken] have been built or are under construction by Veidekke. We are grateful for the confidence shown in us to continue building.”

Teieparken is envisioned as a green city district, featuring a public park surrounded by walkways, play areas, and recreational spaces.

The upcoming residential buildings, distributed across two structures with three to five floors, will be constructed above an underground parking facility.

Hjertås added: “The fact that OBOS is commissioning now provides continuity in the development that is very important for both parties. This ensures, among other things, that we can proceed with the same coordinated team, comprising both our own employees and partners at the construction site.”

Construction is set to commence immediately, with the handover of the apartments scheduled for early 2026.

Veidekke has included this contract in its order book for the first quarter of 2024.

Earlier this week, Veidekke won a contract to build the Mediebyen office and commercial building at Nytorget in Stavanger, Norway.

The design-and-build contract, awarded by SVG Property, is worth Nkr330m, excluding VAT.
