Stobbarts has been selected to support major infrastructure projects at Sellafield, the UK’s most complex nuclear site.聽

The 15-year framework agreement is valued at up to 拢40m ($49.92m). 

It entails Stobbarts鈥� assistance to primary delivery partner Sir Robert McAlpine on groundworks and concrete services at the site.聽

The long-term nature of the contract aligns with Stobbarts’ growth strategy, enabling the company to recruit more local talent and invest further in its apprenticeship programme.  

The business is also planning to enhance its current facilities and expand into new premises in the vicinity.聽聽

Stobbarts’ engagement with the community extends beyond infrastructure projects.  

The company offers work experience placements to students from several local schools.  

Collaborating with PPP, Stobbarts aims to increase its involvement in science, technology, engineering and mathematics-related educational initiatives.聽

In addition, Stobbarts says it is actively supporting local community groups and charities.聽聽

Since its inception in 2019, PPP has awarded contracts that could potentially reach a value of 拢3bn.

The partnership now collaborates with approximately 200 suppliers across the UK, with 40% based in the north-west and nearly 70% classified as small and medium-sized enterprises.聽
